Quotes by boys...

"Mom, this sandwich is good!  It's awesome.
You're like a Nonna in training... Ya know, a Mama!"

I say nothing...

Today's card..

Creative Scrapbooker

I am so excited... I received my copy of Creative Scrapbooker Magazine and found my layouts on Page 29 and 49.
I almost cried... Silly I know...
There are tonnes of people who send in layouts and I am so grateful to have mine picked to be published internationally... Makes me feel quite crafty!
I love the magazine because it gives me so many ideas and I am humbled to think somewhere someone is looking at my work and thinking, "that's awesome... I will use that layout for this!"  because that is exactly what I do!  I make notes, circle ideas and highlight the supplies I like.  See what I mean about the tears?  I wonder who is putting a circle around my Quebec layout?  I want to hug them and say "Thank You!"
Off the read the rest of the fall issue... It looks awesome!

Hair cuts...

Oh, the joy of back to school hair cuts.  In classic fashion I have left the trip to the barber too late and the line is long... Really long... Rapunzel long.

So here we sit and wait and wait and wait.

We dare not leave as our spot in line will disappear and let's face it - I am not sure I have the strength to so this again!  It is a shame that the sun is shining and we are inside waiting for a quick buzz cut!

It is all good.

Customer Service...

Today I had to work with a customer service representative through email.  Sometimes the thought of dealing with a problem with a purchased item makes me shudder, then to do this online with a person I do not know, have not seen AND cannot decipher body language or tone of voice from... well, I was a little frazzled.

Needless to say - Jessica from Lawn Fawn was AWESOME!

I had an issue with a previously purchased stamp from Lawn Fawn - a totally once-off air bubble in a stamp.  I had not noticed it, and yes, I had used the stamp - let's face it, Lawn Fawn's stuff is so cute, how could you not rip it open and stamp up a storm the second you have it???

Jessica was great online.  She sent me prompt emails back, she asked for photographs and said "thank you" when I sent them and her emails presented a person who cared... cared that I had an issue, cared that I needed help and cared that she could set things right.  She was great.  No surprise because Lawn Fawn products are pretty great too!

I don't want to say my faith is restored in all of the human race, but it is certainly restored in customer service representatives.

Today's card...

Neenah Cardstock, Distress Inks, Lawn Fawn Stamps, Memento Ink, Spectrum Noir Markers
Here's my card for today... a fun card for all of my teacher buds heading back to class.  The colouring is done with Spectrum Noir Markers on Neenah Cardstock. I used distress inks to make the coloured background and I find this makes the little basket of apples stand out.  I admit I am delighted (thankful, relieved, panicked) I am not heading back to class in a week, but I hope this makes those who are smile - just a little.

Today's Layout...

American Crafts Cardstock, Echo Park Paper
Today's Layout is one that can be purchased as part of a larger kit.  The kit has this double layout and a single layout so you have some unity in your album.  I believe as I type, they also have some of the paper on the shelves if you wanted to add more layouts in the same paper series!

I really like the snowflake paper by Echo Park as it is "different" - the colours are not your traditional "Christmas Colours" and that is something I like to see every once in a while.

Thanks for stopping by!

Looking for little people under the toadstools...

In the rain...

It is amazing how a rainy day can just turn your plans upside down.  On the day we are in the bush working on the garage, the rain just keeps on falling... And falling... And falling.  A cloudy no rain kind of day would make everything a little bit easier.

The boys are working hard to get it done and doing a great job too!

Today's card...

Today's card uses a new stamp from High Hopes made right here in town!  It also uses Echo Park Paper, Spectrum Noir Markers, Neenah Cardstock, Stickles and a Lawn Fawn sentiment stamp.

I am no colourer - that's for sure - but I like the way this card came together.

Enjoy!

Quiet on the home front...

All is quiet on the home front.... with one dude of in Algonquin Park working on his Silver Duke and the other off in Bracebridge with a buddy at his cottage, all is quiet at home.  It is amazing how quiet.  No yelling for chargers or discussions about League of Legends... no "when's lunch?" or "hey, can I have a snack?"... as I said - quiet.

SO this leaves me with a few questions of myself... do I scrapbook or read?  Vacuum or fold laundry? Go shopping or meet the "spousal unit" for lunch?

Decisions, decisions, decisions... it is just too quiet to make them!  HA

Today's card...

Today's card used a number of popular items most people have on hand... Versamark ink, coloured ink, embossing powder, 3M washi tape and Neenah cardstock.  It is a rather glittery card due to the embossing powder... I have glitter everywhere as usual!  The stamp set is from Stampin Up and is still available in their catalogue.

The one piece of equipment I used that really helped me to make 6 of these cards is the MISTI.  It enabled me to stamp the leaves in colour and then again with Versamark to emboss them.  As this is a photopolymer set the MISTI is not a requirement, but it does help!

Thanks for checking out today's card.

So gorgeous...

There is something wonderful about summer lilies... they look so nice (even on a rainy day) looking up to the sky.  They smell so sweet, you just want to stand next to them all day - even in the rain!  Lynn can certainly grow plants and there is no question her lilies are gorgeous!

My boys and the water...

It is funny how two children from a parent who is terrified of the water are always looking for things to do on the water.  This dude loves to kayak and the other loves to canoe... I am so happy both boys like to adventure around the lake, rain or shine, in their "boat" of choice.

S'mores

We do lots of things each and every summer, one of which is s'mores - we call them cheater s'mores because we use chocolate covered Leclerc Celebration Cookies .  My guys are professional stick makers and there is nothing better than the taste of summer s'mores (well, maybe fall s'mores but that is a post for a later date).

Today's layout...

Working on the deck... Remembering our awesome Florida vacation.  I would love to go back and one day we will!  The fireworks at all the parks took our breath away.

Thank goodness...

... Mom has figured out how to create a "hotspot"!
This dude is working on his Silver Duke Registration... While he is happy to have wifi, I am happy I do not need to drive to town.
Who knew I was so techy?  ROTFL

One happy camper...

This dude is happy to report that Christmas came early with the opening of his new Eureka! Modori 3 Tent...
